President & Chief Executive Officer
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) facilitates over 62,000 patient visits annually and serves thousands more each year through their education programs and advocacy work. The mission of PPCW is to provide, promote, and protect access to sexual and reproductive health care. With an operating budget of $32 million, a staff of over 250 (78% of which are union members), and eight health centers, PPCW is one of Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliates in the region. The organization serves its community through a broad range of family planning, sexual and reproductive health care; provides sex education to young people and their educators to increase access to sexual and reproductive health care and healthy sexuality; and advocates for the protection of reproductive rights and freedom in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Legislatively and policy wise, Oregon is one of the most favorable landscapes in the country for reproductive rights and equality. 2023 has already seen big wins. In early January, Governor Tina Kotek became one of the first openly lesbian Governors in the country and a diverse cohort of new and returning state legislators were also sworn in for the term—including the largest contingent of Vietnamese-American state lawmakers in the nation.
This is a potential watershed moment for reproductive healthcare in the State of Oregon. With opportunities in the pipeline to pass model legislation, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette is well-poised to be a leader in this regional and national conversation. Additionally, Washington state’s Governor Jay Inslee recently signed two bills that protect people who seek, provide, or facilitate abortion or gender-affirming care in Washington from out-of-state investigations and prosecutions and prevent medical licensing boards from retaliating against clinicians for providing reproductive health services and gender-affirming care. Now is the time for PPCW to lead with bold vision and strategic urgency.
Reporting to the affiliate’s Board of Directors, the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO will work with Board and staff to ensure that the delivery of services and organizational initiatives are integrated through a lens of equity and are effective in supporting PPCW’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives. PPCW is seeking a dynamic and authentic leader who will build upon its decades of success, work in close partnership with the Board and staff to advocate for PPCW’s mission, and evolve PPCW’s service offerings to meet the needs of its communities and ensure financial sustainability. In partnership with the Board and staff, the next CEO will define bold short- and long-term goals for PPCW, design a cohesive and targeted strategic plan, and work with a wide variety of constituents to implement and evaluate it.
The salary range for this role is $280,000 - $350,000, including a generous benefits package.
